Nauplion or Nafplion

Is a picturesque seaport town, 150Km south-west of Athens in the north-eastern Peloponnese, that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf, nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress.
The town was the first capital of modern Greece, from 1829 to 1834. Nafplion is the capital of the prefecture of Argolis and the province of Nafplion.
